Active range of movement for the elbow joint, so initial movement following injury or surgery to the elbow or shoulder, especially if the arm has been in a sling for extended eriods of time.

Instructions

Lying in supine (take your arm out of the sling it its in a sling). Gentle lower your forearm straight to extend the elbow. If you can get all the way give the back of the upper arm a muscle squeeze (tense your tricep), then slowly return into flexion and see if you can touch your shoulder with your fingers.
