AS | Soleus (floor)

Stretching of the soleus muscle is beneficial in preventing injury and also helping to correct muscle tightness problems. The floor stretch can be used by people suffering with calf pain, post-knee surgery, to help improve foot and ankle pain and even just to prevent injury in runners.

Stand with one leg in front of the other, front leg bent, back leg bent. Slowly lean forwards onto front leg until you feel the stretch in the back of the calf. You should always feel a stretch but don't want to feel pain so if this is the case, reduce the stretch slightly.
