Exclusively for Achilles rupture or surgery cases during the 1-5 week post-injury/surgery period where the patient is in a boot 24/7. This allows ankle movement, and gentle pump movement of the calf to be done usually once a day.

Instructions

Sitting in a chair, take your boot (or backslab) off and hold your leg out so your foot is off the ground in the air. Very slowly plantar flex (move your foot downwards WITHOUT actively lifting it back up. Meaning that you slowly release the downward movement so your foot naturally springs back SLOWLY. Don't pull it towards you into Dorsiflexion at all. Repeat this slow 'down and release' movement for 10mins.
